A little about myself...
Hello, I'm Kevin Day, a photographer based in a small East Sussex village on the edge of Pooh Bear's playground, Ashdown Forest.
My first foray into photography was with a 35mm film camera, a basic manual Cosina CT1. At 19 I was taking shots, badly, of my friends pulling off-cuts of carpet on rope attached to 50cc mopeds along a dusty track. We thought the dust storms gave an impression of speed!
With my first job working in an estate agents the dust storms hardly settled, revealing houses captured with the company’s Polaroid camera. Those instant black and white prints were photocopied, at which point they were as much use to anyone as a chocolate fireguard!
I so enjoyed capturing the uncontrollable various expressions of all my children and many others in the proceeding years, some professionally at school balls, weddings and parties. Now enjoying the equally uncontrollable incense smoke!
